Whichever one you select, the link will take you to googledocs where you can then download the entry form to your computer by selecting the “File” tab and then “Download as…” at the bottom of the menu. It is a bit convoluted, we know, but there’s been some technical issues with our website and this was the easiest way we could get the info out to you lovely people!

This competition is a celebration of what our visitors love about Bodnant Garden. Photos should express why the photographer loves the garden and could depict people, landscapes, plants and so on. Photographs must be taken at Bodnant Garden and should be an accurate representation of the garden.


The winner in each category will be awarded a £100 voucher for Cambrian Photography Shop in Colwyn Bay

The winner and runner up of each category will be offered half a day’s tuition from photographer Pierino Algieri on 31st May 2015, 8am-1pm. (The winner of the Junior category must be accompanied by one adult). Additionally, their photography will be displayed in the underpass entry to the garden for more than 180,000 people a year to see and admire.

The winners and runners up will be included in a Bodnant Garden 2015 calendar along with 8 ‘highly commended’ entries.


  • Photographs must be submitted in digital format as a jpeg.

  • The submitted file size must be no more than 1MB but entrants must hold a high resolution version of the photo, minimum 5MB, to be available in the event of winning.

  • Entries can be submitted on CD or emailed to

  • Photos must be in landscape format.

  • Photographs and accompanying entry form must be submitted by 5pm on 31st October 2014.


  1. This competition is open to all residents of the UK, except for employees and volunteers of the National Trust, their families or anyone else associated with this competition.

  2. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all terms and conditions are adhered to. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  3. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  4. Entries should be emailed to or submitted on CD via post or to the Bodnant Garden visitor reception. Submissions must be a maximum of 1MB file size but the entrant must have a higher resolution version available in the event of winning, minimum 5MB. Up to three images may be submitted per person. Entries will only be accepted with a completed entry form.

  5. All photographs must be taken in landscape format.

  6. All entries must be received by 5pm on the 31 October 2014. Late, incomplete or corrupt entries will not be accepted.

  7. Entrants under the age of 16 must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian prior to submitting any images.

  8. To enter the Junior category, entrants must be aged 17 or younger on 31st October 2014.

  9. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere (excluding social media) or have won a prize in any other photographic competition.

  10. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the consent of anyone who is identifiable in that image or the consent of their parent/guardian if they are under 16 and that they have been advised of the purpose of the submission and that their photograph may be published by the National Trust.

  11. Entrants must ensure that the photographs they are submitting are their own work, that they own the copyright for them and that they do not infringe the copyright or other rights of any third party or any laws.

  12. All images entered must be a celebration of why the individual taking the photography loves Bodnant Garden.  The pictures must show images of Bodnant Garden and should be an accurate representation of the garden.

  13. Entrants to the competition must present a National Trust membership card or pay the appropriate entry fee in order to enter the garden.

  14. Entrants will retain copyright and moral rights in their submitted images. However, by entering, all entrants:

    1. grant the National Trust non-exclusive rights to use the images to promote the competition the images were submitted to, or for similar future competitions within a five year period of the winners of the competition being announced;

    2. grant the National Trust permission to print and display these photographs in the manner described in Clause 18 below, in the event of winning or being highly commended in the competition, and acknowledge that this includes use for commercial purpose;

    3. agree that the use referred to at Clause 14(a) above may include publishing, displaying or otherwise reproducing the images (whether on the internet, in the National Trust Magazine, in exhibitions or otherwise) provided such use is for the purposes of promoting the competition or similar future competitions only; and

    4. agree that the National Trust may contact them using the contact details they provide to discuss potential use of the images beyond promotion of the competition. Such discussion and negotiation will be independent from the competition and will not affect entrants’ chances of winning.

  15. The National Trust will ensure the photographer will always be credited whenever his or her image is used and published by the National Trust.

  16. The winning entries will be judged to be the most visually appealing interpretations of the brief of celebrating on camera what or why the photographer loves about Bodnant Garden.  A winner and runner up will be chosen from each of the 2 categories – Junior (17 and under) and Senior (18 and over).  8 entries will be selected as highly commended.

  17. Winners will be notified by phone before the 14th November 2014. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available, the judges reserve the right to select another winner from the eligible entries which were received before the closing date.

  18. The winners of each category will receive £100 voucher for Cambrian Photography Shop in Colwyn Bay, have their photo displayed in the underpass entrance and be awarded half a day’s photography tuition on 31st May 2015 with Pierino Algieri. The winner from the Junior category must be accompanied by an adult. The runner up from each category will be awarded half a day’s photography tuition with Pierino Algieri on 31st May 2015  and have their photo displayed in the underpass entrance. The winners and runners up will be published in the Bodnant Garden 2015 calendar alongside 8 highly commended photos. The prizes as described are available on the date of publication. All prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

  19. The winners may be required to take part in publicity and their name and county may be published on the National Trust website, in the National Trust Magazine and other National Trust publications.

  20. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the National Trust and accordingly the National Trust may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the promoter as a result thereof.

  21. Welsh law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Welsh Courts shall prevail.

  1. Mae’r gystadleuaeth yma’n agored i holl breswylwyr y Deyrnas Unedig, ac eithrio gweithwyr a gwirfoddolwyr yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol, eu teuluoedd neu unrhyw un arall sy’n gysylltiedig â’r gystadleuaeth hon.

  2. Maer holl wybodaeth sy’n dweud sut i ymgeisio yn y gystadleuaeth hon yn rhan o’r telerau a’r amodau hyn.  Mae glynu at y telerau a’r amodau i gyd yn amod o’r gystadleuaeth. Fe gymerir bod cyflwyno ymgais yn golygu eich bod yn derbyn y telerau a’r amodau hyn..

  3. Mae penderfyniad y beirniad yn derfynol ac ni fydd yna unrhyw ohebiaeth ynglŷn â hynny.

  4. Dylid e-bostio cynigion i neu eu cyflwyno ar CD yn y post neu i dderbynfa ymwelwyr Gardd Bodnant.  Mae’n rhaid i’r cynigion fod yn ddim llai na ffeil o faint  1MB ond mae’n rhaid i’r ymgeisydd fod â fersiwn cydraniad uchel ar gael os bydd yn ennill, isafswm o 5MB. Gellir cyflwyno hyd at dair delwedd y person.  Fe dderbynnir cynigion dim ond os bydd yna ffurflen gais wedi’i chwblhau efo nhw.

  5. Mae’n rhaid i’r ffotograffau fod wedi eu cymryd mewn fformat tirlun.

  6. Mae’n rhaid i ni fod wedi derbyn y cynigion i gyd erbyn 5pm ar Hydref 31ain, 2014. Ni chaiff cynigion hwyr, anghyflawn neu lygredig eu derbyn.

  7. Mae’n rhaid i ymgeiswyr dan 16 oed gael caniatâd rhiant neu warcheidwad cyn cyflwyno unrhyw ddelweddau.

  8. I ymgeisio yn y categori Ifanc, mae’n rhaid i ymgeiswyr fod yn 17 neu’n iau ar Hydref 31ain 2014.

  9. Mae’n rhaid i’r holl ddelweddau a gyflwynir fod yn waith yr unigolyn sy’n eu cyflwyno ac nid ydyn nhw i fod wedi eu cyhoeddi yn unman arall (ac eithrio cyfryngau cymdeithasu) nac wedi ennill gwobr mewn unrhyw gystadleuaeth ffotograffig arall.

  10. Mae’n gyfrifoldeb ar bob ymgeisydd i ofalu bod unrhyw ddelweddau  y maen nhw’n eu cyflwyno wedi eu cymryd gyda chaniatâd unrhyw un y gellir ei adnabod yn y ddelwedd honno neu ganiatâd eu rhiant/gwarcheidwad os ydyn nhw dan 16, a’u bod wedi eu hysbysu o bwrpas y cyflwyniad ac y gallai’r Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol gyhoeddi eu ffotograff.

  11. Mae’n rhaid i ymgeiswyr ofalu mai eu gwaith nhw’u hunain yw’r ffotograff y maen nhw’ ei gyflwyno, mai nhw sy’n berchen ar yr hawlfraint arnyn nhw ac nad ydyn nhw’n torri ar hawlfraint neu hawliau eraill unrhyw drydydd parti nac unrhyw gyfreithiau.

  12. Mae’n rhaid i’r holl ddelweddau a gyflwynir fod yn ddathliad o’r rheswm bod yr unigolyn sy’n cymryd y ffotograff mor hoff o ar Ardd Bodnant.  Mae’n rhaid i’r lluniau ddangos delweddau o Ardd Bodnant a dylent fod yn gynrychioliad cywir o’r ardd.

  13. Mae’n rhaid i ymgeiswyr yn y gystadleuaeth ddangos cerdyn aelodaeth o’r Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol neu dalu’r pris mynediad priodol er mwyn mynd i mewn i’r ardd.

  14. Bydd ymgeiswyr yn cadw hawlfraint a hawliau moesol yn y delweddau a gyflwynwyd ganddyn nhw.  Fodd bynnag, mae pob ymgeisydd, drwy ymgeisio, yn:

    1. caniatáu hawliau anghynhwysol i ddefnyddio’r delweddau i hyrwyddo’r gystadleuaeth y cyflwynwyd y delweddau ynddi, neu ar gyfer cystadlaethau tebyg yn y dyfodol o fewn cyfnod o bum mlynedd o gyhoeddi enillwyr y gystadleuaeth;

    2. rhoi caniatâd i’r Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol brintio ac arddangos y ffotograffau hyn yn y dull a ddisgrifir yng Nghymal 18 isod;, os digwydd y byddan nhw’n ennill y gystadleuaeth  neu’n cael canmoliaeth uchel, ac yn cydnabod bod hynny’n cynnwys eu defnyddio i ddibenion masnachol;

    3. cytuno y gall y defnydd y cyfeirir ato yng Nghymal 14(a) uchod gynnwys cyhoeddi, arddangos neu ailgynhyrchu’r delweddau mewn ffordd arall (boed hynny ar y rhyngrwyd, yng Nghylchgrawn yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol, mewn arddangosfa, neu fel arall) cyn belled â bod defnydd felly i ddibenion hyrwyddo’r gystadleuaeth neu gystadlaethau tebyg yn y dyfodol yn unig; ac yn

    4. cytuno y gall yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol gysylltu â nhw gan ddefnyddio’r manylion cyswllt a ddarperir ganddyn nhw i drafod defnydd potensial o’r delweddau ar wahân i hyrwyddo’r gystadleuaeth.  Bydd trafodaethau felly’n annibynnol ar y gystadleuaeth ac ni fyddan nhw’n effeithio ar siawns ymgeiswyr i ennill.

  15. Fe wnaiff yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol ofalu bod y ffotograffydd yn cael ei gydnabod pryd bynnag y defnyddir neu y cyhoeddir ei ddelwedd gan yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol.

  16. Fe gaiff y ceisiadau buddugol eu beirniadu o ran y dehongliad sy’n fwyaf apelgar yn weledol o’r brîff o ddathlu ar gamera beth mae’r ffotograffydd mor hoff ohono ynglŷn â Gardd Bodnant neu pam..  Fe ddewisir enillydd ac ail o’r 2 gategori – Ifanc (17 ac iau) a Hŷn (18 a hŷn).  Fe ddewisir 8 ymgais i gael canmoliaeth uchel.

  17. Fe gaiff yr enillwyr eu hysbysu ar y ffôn cyn Tachwedd 14eg 2014. Os na ellir cysylltu ag enillydd neu os na fydd ar gael, mae’r beirniad yn cadw’r hawl i ddewis enillydd arall o blith y ceisiadau cymwys a dderbyniwyd cyn y dyddiad cau.

  18. Bydd enillwyr pob categori’n derbyn taleb am £100 ar gyfer y Cambrian Photography Shop ym Mae Colwyn, bydd eu ffotograff yn cael ei arddangos ym mynedfa’r danffordd ac fe gân nhw hanner diwrnod o hyfforddiant mewn ffotograffiaeth ar Fai 31ain 2015 â Pierino Algieri. Mae’n rhaid i oedolyn ddod gydag enillydd y categori Ifanc.  Bydd yr ail o bob categori’n cael  hanner diwrnod o hyfforddiant mewn ffotograffiaeth â Pierino Algieri ar Fai 31ain 2015  a bydd eu ffotograffau’n cael eu harddangos ym mynedfa’r danffordd. Fe gaiff yr enillwyr a’r ail oreuon eu cyhoeddi yng nghalendr Gardd Bodnant 2015 ynghyd ag 8 o ffotograffau a gafodd ganmoliaeth uchel.  Mae’r gwobrau fel y’u disgrifir ar gael ar y dyddiad cyhoeddi.  Mae’r gwobrau i gyd yn anhrosglwyddadwy ac nid oes yna unrhyw arian fel dewis gwahanol.

  19. Mae’n bosib y bydd angen i’r enillwyr gymryd rhan mewn cyhoeddusrwydd ac mae’n bosib y caiff eu henw a’u sir eu cyhoeddi ar wefan yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol, yng Nghylchgrawn yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol a chyhoeddiadau eraill gan yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol.

  20. Mae’n bosib y bydd yna ddigwyddiadau sy’n golygu y bydd y gystadleuaeth ei hun neu ddyfarniad y gwobrau’n amhosib oherwydd rhesymau sydd y tu hwn i reolaeth yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol ac felly, fe all yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol, yn ôl ei disgresiwn absoliwt, amrywio neu ddiwygio’r hyrwyddiad ac mae’r ymgeisydd yn cytuno na fydd yna unrhyw gyfrifoldeb ar yr hyrwyddwr o ganlyniad i hynny.

  21. Mae cyfraith Gymreig yn gymwys a grym awdurdodaeth Llysoedd Cymru.
